reset instructions for Oyster Visions II that wont lock to Astra 2

Latest transponder frequency changes on Astra 2 mid October 2017 Some Oyster Vision models used these to lock to Astra 2, the result is that some Vision  models may not now lock to Astra 2 . These changes have already, or will soon affect other makes in the future

There is no fault with your Oyster!!

Follow the instructions below,  check back regularly on our site to ensure the  latest up to date frequencies as they are subject change at any time

THE POINT OF THESE INSTRUCTION IS ASSIST OUR CUSTOMERS AND THOSE WHO ARE NOT OUR CUSTOMERS TO GET THEIR SYSTEMS WORKING AT NO COST, OTHER DEALERS MAY WELL CHARGE FOR UPDATES.

IF YOU FIND THIS USEFUL TO YOU PLEASE TELL OTHERS ( THE INTERNET FORUMS ARE A GOOD PLACE TO REACH OTHERS ) SO WE CAN ASSIST AS MANY OYSTER OWNERS AS POSSIBLE AT NO COST TO THEM.

Do not make any other adjustments or damage can occur   and we will not accept any liability, so if you are unsure, do not proceed, and send us the “black box” instead as below. If things go wrong during the process , do not attempt to operate the dish with potentially wrong values,  as serious damage can occur , instead send the "black box to us as described below.

Only certain models of units can be done by the consumer depending on the age of the software installed, others will need to have new software downloaded by computer. This will depend on the software version you have on your Oyster.

If the sequence of adjustments do not happen exactly as listed here then you may have older software on your unit, and it will need a computer update, in which case proceed as follows. If things do go wrong and you make a mistake that you cannot rectify then abort the operation and send the "black box" to us so WE can rectify it for you.  Please do not send it to any other dealer , If the top box unit is affected  then please arrange to get the van to us and we can sort it out for you here at our base in Wakefield

Locate the "black box" (actually off white on Vision 2 and black on Vision 3) the hide away unit with all the connections from the dish going to it. Remove it and post it to us with a blank payee cheque for £55 ( £10 return postage and £45 for the update ) and we will update it here by computer and send it back. Do not send the control box with the display and buttons on it. This is not the box we need. When you get it back simply plug it back in and all should be well. Don’t forget to put your name and address and phone number with it , and state if it is an Oyster (round dish on roof ) or a Caro or Cytrac ( square dish on roof )  post to Robert Jackson, 12 Denby Lane, Grange Moor, Wakefield, West Yorkshire . WF4 4ED .

Vision 2 “Black box” the one we need to update for you

Regards Robert Jackson
